Recently, LEDinside conducted an exclusive interview with Edison Innovations, delving into how the company's latest KSF phosphor technology is helping OEMs and LED suppliers enhance automotive display quality. This technology has achieved multiple breakthroughs in color performance, thermal stability, and energy efficiency, offering new solutions for intelligent automotive display systems.
With the acceleration of automotive intelligence, vehicle display technology is facing higher demands. Traditional phosphor materials have limitations in high brightness, wide color gamut, and long lifespan, making it difficult to meet the requirements of next-generation vehicle displays. Edison Innovations' KSF (Kyanite-Silicate Fluorescent) phosphor technology achieves significant improvements in light emission efficiency, color purity, and thermal stability through optimized crystal structure and doping processes. According to test data, KSF phosphors can maintain over 90% of their luminescence efficiency even at 125°C, representing a 30% improvement compared to traditional materials, effectively extending the service life of LED components.
In addition, the KSF technology also demonstrates excellent performance in color gamut coverage, achieving more than 120% NTSC color gamut coverage, providing vehicle display systems with a richer and more realistic visual experience. This feature is particularly suitable for high-end automotive infotainment systems and instrument panel displays, helping to enhance user perceived value.
In terms of industrial chain collaboration, Edison Innovations stated that its KSF technology has already established partnerships with several upstream LED suppliers, supporting OEMs in quickly adopting advanced display solutions. Meanwhile, leading domestic LED packaging company GOPRO LED is actively developing related applications. Its high-color-rendering LED modules based on KSF technology have already entered mass production in certain new energy vehicle models, showing promising market prospects.
Industry experts believe that the introduction of KSF phosphor technology not only provides a new technical path for the automotive display industry but also brings higher value-added to the entire LED industry chain. In the future, as more manufacturers join the technology ecosystem, KSF is expected to become an important driving force in upgrading smart automotive display systems.
