According to LEDinside, Elphoton's "W2C®" architecture achieves stable operation of UVC-LEDs in underwater environments without additional sealing structures, through innovative chip design and material optimization. Traditional UVC-LEDs rely on complex packaging processes to prevent moisture intrusion, whereas this technology directly exposes the chip to water, not only improving energy efficiency but also reducing system complexity and maintenance costs. Test data show that under 10 meters of water depth, the UVC-LEDs based on this architecture maintain over 95% optical output efficiency, significantly outperforming similar products.

This technological innovation holds significant importance for applications such as underwater disinfection, seawater desalination, and aquaculture. Particularly in marine environmental monitoring and water purification, the feature of not requiring frequent disassembly or replacement of equipment greatly enhances system reliability and cost-effectiveness.
